About Bud & Blossom Creatives
Bud & Blossom ‘Creatives’ is a dedicated Visual Arts school based in Germiston, Johannesburg, offering structured art education for learners of all ages – from primary school through to adults. We provide CAPS-aligned Visual Arts support, creative development programmes, and original art-inspired lifestyle products. Learn more about us.
Our founder, Tanja van Biljon, is an award-winning South African artist with over 20 years of teaching experience and a Fine Arts academic background from the University of Pretoria. Our educator, Merandie de Jager, holds a BA in Film Arts specialising in 3D Animation and has 5+ years of industry experience. Meet our team.

Absolutely. Our small group teaching approach, calm studio environment, and individualised attention make us especially supportive for neurodivergent learners and LSEN (Learners with Special Education Needs) individuals. We adapt our pacing and methods to meet each learner where they are. Read more about our approach.

Yes! Our Grade 10–12 Visual Arts programme is available fully online. Online learning is available nationwide across South Africa. Explore our online programme.
Yes. Our Grade 10–12 Visual Arts programmes are fully CAPS-aligned. Tanja van Biljon is a registered Impaq assessor, making our programmes ideal for both homeschool and school-based learners. Learn more about CAPS Visual Arts.
Materials are discussed during enrolment. For most courses, basic art supplies are provided or billed separately. For 3D Animation, you need your own laptop with Blender (free software) installed.
Pricing varies by programme:
- Grade 10–12 In-Person: R300 enrolment + R900/month
- Grade 10–12 Online: R900/month (10% discount if paid in full)
- Flourish: From R1,950 (self-paced)
- 3D Animation: R450 enrolment + R1,250/month (teens)
- All Ages: From R750/month
Yes. Tanja van Biljon is a registered Impaq assessor, which means homeschool learners can complete their Visual Arts curriculum through Bud & Blossom with full formal assessment. We handle SBA tasks, PAT guidance, and exam preparation.
We teach learners from age 5 through to adults. Our All Ages programme has three tiers: Kids (5–12), Teens (13–18), and Adults (19+). Our Grade 10–12 programmes serve high school learners, and Flourish is designed for teens and adults seeking creative growth.

Yes. Every product is created from an original artwork by Tanja van Biljon. They are not mass-produced – each piece is crafted to order, making every item part of a limited edition collection. Browse our shop.
Our products use premium materials:
- Scatter Pillows: Cotton Canvas or Deco Weave fabric with premium polyester inner included
- Placemats: Premium neoprene (washable, non-slip, heat-resistant, 3mm thick)
- Tote Bags: Durable cotton canvas with reinforced straps

Yes! Every scatter pillow comes with a premium inner cushion included. Handmade to order from original artwork – no separate cushion needed.
Scatter Pillows: 50×50cm (square) or 60×40cm (lumbar). Placemats: Sets of 4 or 8. Tote Bags: Approximately 40×50cm.
Two options: Cotton Canvas (soft, natural feel) and Deco Weave (textured, contemporary finish). Both available in both sizes.
Artwork placement is carefully considered for each product to showcase the design at its best. Slight variations may occur between pieces, making each one unique – this is part of the handmade character.
Each product is individually made after you place your order. This ensures freshness, quality, and the limited-edition nature of every piece. Please allow 14–21 working days for production.
Not currently, but gift cards are planned for a future phase. In the meantime, contact us if you’d like to purchase a product as a gift – we can help with special requests.
Shipping & Delivery
Products are crafted to order over 14–21 working days. Once dispatched, delivery via Courier Guy typically takes 2–5 additional working days within South Africa.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, size, and destination. Orders over R1,500 (excl. VAT) qualify for FREE nationwide shipping.
A tracking number is emailed to you when your order is dispatched. You can track your delivery on our Track Order page or at courierguy.co.za.
Currently, we only ship within South Africa. International shipping may be considered on a case-by-case basis – please contact us to discuss.
Yes – local collection from our Germiston studio is available by appointment. You’ll be notified via email and WhatsApp when your order is ready for collection.
If delivery fails due to an incorrect address or recipient unavailability, redelivery fees may apply. Please ensure your shipping details are accurate at checkout. Read our full shipping policy.
Returns & Refunds
As all items are crafted to order from original artwork, standard returns for change of mind are not available. However, we handle each situation with care on a case-by-case basis. Read our full returns policy.
Please report any damage within 48 hours of delivery by emailing info@budandblossom.co.za with clear photographs and your order number. We will arrange a replacement or refund at our discretion.
You may request cancellation within 7 days of placing your order, provided that production has not yet commenced. Once production has begun, cancellations cannot be accepted.
Digital courses have a 7-day cooling-off period if less than 15% of the content has been accessed. After substantial access, refunds are not available.
Approved refunds are processed within 14 working days of receiving the returned item, via the original payment method.
Payment
We accept card payments (Visa, Mastercard), Instant EFT, and debit/credit cards via YOCO – our secure payment partner.
Yes. All payments are processed through YOCO’s encrypted, PCI-compliant payment gateway. Your financial details are never stored on our website.
No. All prices displayed on the website exclude VAT.
Deposit payments are available for large or custom orders. Please contact us to arrange.
Course fees are structured as monthly payments (e.g., R900/month for Grade 10–12). A 10% discount is available on selected courses when paid in full upfront.
Account
No – guest checkout is available. However, creating a free account allows you to view your order history, save addresses, and access future features like wishlists and course progress.
